Russian authorities suggest that relatives and wives of mobilized men should “shut their lovely little mouths,” stop “rocking the boat,” and be satisfied with the payments from the government. Their husbands went to the war against Ukraine and now cannot come back home, and the Russian propaganda has already labeled these Russian women agents of Western secret services and enemies of the people. The women are banned from protesting and rallying but they still continue their struggle, uniting in groups and burying officials under their appeals.
Our documentary for the first time shows families of mobilized men answering all the questions: why they let their men go to the war, why they do not protest against the so-called “special operation,” how their attitudes towards the notions of patriotism and motherland have changed, what future they see for Russia, and, most importantly, do they believe that their husbands, brothers, and sons are heroes?
