The Coordinator of the Far-Right Russkaya Obshchina Accused the Court of “Destroying the Institution of the Family” After He Was Sentenced to 10 Days in Jail for Beating His Wife
The beating took place in front of the children
Доступно на русскомThe Troitsk City Court of Chelyabinsk Oblast sentenced the coordinator of the Russkaya Obshchina (Russian Community), Stanislav Belous, to 10 days of administrative arrest for beating his wife, reports the portal 74.ru citing the court’s press service. According to court documents, on June 17, 2025, Belous strangled his wife in front of their children because of a broken phone, as stated in the court hearing documents.
After his release, the coordinator of the Russkaya Obshchina recorded a video address in which he speaks about the “deliberate destroying of the institution of the family” and complains that the court did not take into account his contributions to society.
“It was not taken into account that I have no prior convictions. <...> When considering the appeal, City Judge Antipov did not take into account the following facts: that I have two children dependent on me, and my absence from work will negatively impact our financial well-being,” Stanislav stated.
Stanislav also claimed that his wife Marina was drunk and “behaved inappropriately.” Marina denies these accusations, referring in her video address to the police report and medical examinations.
Before the court hearing, Stanislav came to Marina’s meeting with her lawyer and threatened her. While under arrest, Stanislav sent photos from behind bars to his children with the words “Your mother put me in jail,” as seen in a screenshot Marina shared with the Chelyabinsk Budushchego channel.
Marina described how Stanislav strangled her while the children were nearby.
“He [Stanislav] started grabbing me by the neck, started strangling me. All of this, once again, happened in front of my children.” — said Marina in her video address, which she shared with the channel. “Apparently, this is how things are done in the Russkaya Obshchina: attacking one person, especially a woman. Apparently, this is their honor, their dignity, and this is how they try to justify themselves,” added Marina in her address.
Marina believes that the Russkaya Obshchina has drastically changed Stanislav:
“It’s just some kind of brainwashing. It was exactly when he joined the Russkaya Obshchina that the person completely changed: he became cruel. He started doing things that I can’t wrap my head around. For the sake of the Russkaya Obshchina, he’s ready to trample over his own children, not thinking about the consequences, not thinking about how we’re supposed to go on living in this city.”
- Russkaya Obshchina is a pro-Kremlin, anti-migrant movement. They conduct or initiate raids against migrants in various cities. The movement was founded by former deputy speaker of the Omsk City Council Andrey Tkachuk, former coordinator of the anti-abortion movement For Life! Yevgeniya Chesnokova, and Spas TV host Andrey Afanasyev, according to BBC Russian Service and Novaya Gazeta Europe.
- The head of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation, Alexander Bastrykin, has repeatedly intervened on behalf of members of the movement. For example, Bastrykin three times demanded that a criminal case be opened against police officers who detained members of the Russkaya Obshchina for threatening to kill a Russian citizen from Dagestan.
- On May 5, an Armenian citizen died in a fire after members of the Russkaya Obshchina broke into an apartment near St. Petersburg. The police released the participants in the raid as witnesses in the case of causing death by negligence.
